I don’t know how to handle this Law question and need guidance.

Consider the following scenario:

You have two children. You are being forced to choose one of your children to be sent to the gas chamber. If you do not decide, both of your children will be killed.

If you subscribe to ethical formalism how do you proceed in making an ethical decision? Justify your position.

If you subscribe to utilitarianism how do you proceed in making an ethical decision? Justify your position.

If you subscribe to relativism how do you proceed in making an ethical decision? Justify your position.

The key issue here is being able to distinguish courses of action based on differing ethical systems. For example, if I subscribe to egoism then I would proceed in making an ethical decision based on what is good for my own survival and happiness (Pollock, 2019, p. 39). There is no concern for others in this system. If there is no concern for others, then it would not be difficult to simply choose one child to send to the gas chamber.

So for each of the ethical systems above, you will briefly describe the focus of each one and then assess how you would proceed in your decision making for each one. Make sure that you provide proper APA citations when describing the ethical systems. Do not write in first person. Always double space. The word count for this assignment is 600-900 words. Please include the word count at the end of your paper and make sure you include your name.
