Cases 3 Patagonia | Leading a Green Revolution Answers

Apply Figure 3.1 to Patagonia to determine its view of ethics. Is it in only one of the quadrants, or is it in more than one? Explain.

The leadership of the company is famous for its ethical behavior and for putting the company’s mission and values upfront. The company’s mission statement states that the company will be involved in developing the best product resulting in no harm and utilize the business to have innovative solutions to environment-related issues.

The actions of the company are not merely limited to just words in fact the organization has a healthy community, develops more purposeful acts and utilizes only those resources that can be replenished to mother nature again. A lot of opportunities are facilitated to the volunteers by the company so that they can participate in more sustainable activities. The company facilitates the leave of 2 months to the employees to get involved in environment-related issues and they receive the full benefits and compensations. Risks are taken by the company to ensure that the business is good. They always look for environment-friendly products and impart changes that are beneficial for the environment and business practices.

Describe how Patagonia has considered the Triple Bottom Line when exercising stewardship decisions for Patagonia

The company must motivate the manpower to keep having some thoughts about themselves and the causes in which they entrust. The individuals who believe in the philosophy of the organization and value the actions of the company will consider what actions might be initiated by Yvon.

In which Corporate Social Responsibility perspective would you place Patagonia? Explain.

I would ask him to have more focus on the combination of three elements rather than just focusing on the environment. The company should have a proper cocktail of social values, environmental protection, and economic development. Once all these elements are combined adequately, the company will be able to have a greater level of sustainability.
