Regulatory and legal approaches in response to health and safety disasters differ amongst various jurisdictions.
Critically examine the legal and regulatory response of the US, UK and any other jurisdiction (outside the EU and North America) of your choice, to offshore oil and gas disasters.
In examining the responses, the following areas must be addressed; the changes to the health and safety regime in the UK after the Piper Alpha disaster of 1988; legal and regulatory changes made in the US after the Macondo disaster of 2011 in the Gulf of Mexico and the legal and regulatory approach to health and safety in the oil and gas industry in any other jurisdiction of your choice.
